Only on Zoom, when testing my microphone, there is no recording to play back. Did all the diagnosis on the laptop with no apparent issues. Any help would be appreciated Same here. Have spent an entire day with Zoom help and HP chat help to no avail. HP laptop is 6 months old. Windows No one seems to be able to help. So frustrated!! Can you help us understand what type of computer, are you running Windows or Mac, and do you know if you are using an external microphone or the one built into your computer? I'm also curious if this has ever worked or if you are maybe just trying for the first time? I'm hoping to learn whether something has changed recently to cause your mic to stop working.
Hi Tefenters thank you for your post adding to this question. Just to be sure are you saying you join Zoom meetings and no one can hear you? I am not sure if you have updated to 5. In you Zoom client make sure you are signed in, then click on Home at the top, click on your profile picture, then Check for Updates. Recently for no apparent reason my microphone stopped working in zoom. The laptop is 3 months old, it is an HP Envy. It worked a few weeks ago but not now. Zoom sees the microphone but nobody can hear me. It is unmuted. The microphone works in windows. When I go to test the microphone in zoom, I can click the test button but when I speak the meter doesn't move. I went on HP website downloaded and installed the latest drivers but no help.

My mic wasn't testing out anywhere despite all my system requirements working properly. So I followed your steps:. Control Panel 2. Sound mic wasn't listed here, so I clicked on Recording tab 4. After trying everything else this week, your steps have just worked for me! Same here - it's not working. I have a new computer too HP Envy and the mic was working for a few weeks but now it isn't - Windows I hope there's a fix.
The solution mentioned in this thread worked for me on Windows I don't have that same laptop in Windows 11 to test. Goto your Windows start button, go to the B's and find Bang and Olufsen.

I was helped by a Zoom staff member. There are two settings to change. Within Zoom, go to Audio settings. Select 'Advanced' at the foot of the screen.
